National LaserFlow Training Day
RS Hydro recently hosted UK's 1st Teledyne ISCO LaserFlow™ Training Day for Flow Practitioners, Water Company Operatives, Consultants, Technicians, MCERTS Inspectors and MCERTS Managers at the Chateaux Impney in Droitwich. This course which attracted delegates from as far away as Perthshire, Scotland to Poole on the South Coast, focused on the following topics: methodology and concept of the LaserFlow; Pros and Cons of the technology; how it compares to other MCERTS flowmeters; installation and programming; a site visit and demonstrations; examples of previous installations and relevant case studies from the UK and overseas.
Rob Stevens, RS Hydro's MD provided an onsite practical session showing the use of an ISCO LaserFlow on an outlet channel at Severn Trent's Bromsgrove WWTW. RS Hydro also provided live LaserFlow demonstrations on their portable flow rig within the training room. The group then had the opportunity to try first-hand how simple the set-up, use, program and installation is, ask questions and understand the most suited applications for the LaserFlow meter.
RS Hydro delivered an informative presentation on the experiences of LaserFlow users in the UK, showing examples of previous LaserFlow installations and explained how the ease of install, lack of maintenance and reduction in safety concerns were the main reasons why clients choose the LaserFlow in their particular application.
The Environment Agency's Hydrometry & Telemetry Division delivered an in-depth presentation of the data and findings of a LaserFlow field test on the River Leen in Nottingham, showing the comparisons between the LaserFlow and an EA's Sarasota 2000 gauging meter, which produced some great questions and discussions from our delegates.
We received great feedback from the delegates because of the high quality and quantity hands on, practical and theory content; and extend thanks to Carl Cederberg and Mariusz Sasin of Teledyne ISCO, who supported the event and created a very open and interactive session for all parties who we look forward to continue working closely with to provide solutions for their most demanding applications.
If you are interested in future LaserFlow training for your company please feel free to contact Rob Stevens.
